Reduce Wrinkle and Fine Lines with Botox Cosmetic Treatment

Posted on April 27, 2017 | Under Botox.

Botox is one of the top nonsurgical cosmetic facial rejuvenation that helps in reducing lines, creases, and wrinkles. This method helps in treating muscle stiffness/spasms or movement disorders (such as cervical dystonia, torticollis), and to reduce the cosmetic appearance of wrinkles. Botulinum toxin relaxes muscle by blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine. It is a safe and powerful injectable treatment that contracts the muscles and lifts the face. Botox is injected into the specified area and ceases this repetitive muscle movement causing less wrinkles. It is virtually painless procedure and does not require downtime for recovery.

Botox treatment can last for 3-4 months and as the muscles starts relaxing, the skin’s memory fades and the lines and wrinkles reduce. Chronic problems such as headache and migraine are reduced to extensively with this treatment. Botox or onabotulinum toxin is used for three main purposes, i.e. muscle spasm control, severe underarm sweating, and cosmetic improvement. It is also used for temporary smoothening of glabellar lines between eyebrows that often makes one look unhappy, tired, and angry.

The needle used for Botox treatment is very small and the pain is quite minimal. The physician numbs the area with a topical anesthetic cream or a cold pack is put on the skin for 10-20 minutes before the vaccination. Botox toxin gets injected into the muscles, where nerve impulses gets blocked. The muscle activity that causes fine lines to appear is reduced with this treatment resulting a smoother look of the facial skin.

Botox treatment can help with a variety of age-related issues for women and men. Some of the imperfections most commonly treated with Botox include wrinkles, crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead lines, and eyebrow wrinkles. In addition, Botox is also used for treating medical issues such as migraines; hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating under the arms; and some forms of bladder dysfunctions. If you have lots of wrinkles on your face, eyebrow lines, or even migraines or sweating problem, then Botox may be the best solution for you.

Note: you may experience a temporary redness and swelling of the skin at the injection area. You may also experience bruising around the treated area.

Botox® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is a non-surgical procedure performed that temporarily reduces frown lines, creases in the forehead, “crows feet” in near the eyes, and thick bands in the neck area. Botox makes your skin smoother, with a more refreshed look. It temporarily prevents the muscles that actually cause wrinkles by blocking the nerve impulses. Botox is also very effective, as found out through studies, to relieve migraine headaches, muscle spasms and even extreme sweating. Most patients are between the ages of 18 and 65 years old and both men and women are good candidates for Botox. It is also important to note that Botox is the only treatment of it type that is approved by the Food and Drug administration(FDA). The entire procedure typically takes no more than 10 minutes, and there is no recovery time needed.

Important Note: Every single patient is different, and has a different scenario. Your plastic surgeon will choose, based on his or her examination, where to inject the Botox. As with every plastic surgery procedure, every patient is different. The location and size of the muscles that cause frowns are different on every patient. There is typically very little discomfort and it is typically always very short. There is no recovery time needed, and the results can last up to 4 months. You typically will begin to see the results of the procedure within a couple days.
