Many advances in liposuction have taken place over the years. One of these improvements is the creation of the tumescent liposuction technique, which we offer at our practice. This technique features the use of tumescent fluid in the target areas before any fat reduction is performed, which makes the procedure easier on both the patient and the cosmetic surgeon.
The fluid used in tumescent liposuction contains a painkiller called Lidocaine, along with saline and epinephrine, which acts to decrease the amount of bleeding during the procedure. The fat cells are firmer as a result of this fluid, making the suction process easier.
